Valenciaport enjoys growth

Container traffic in Spain’s Port of Valencia climbed 1.44% in 2009 to 3.7m teu, buoyed by transhipment traffic which accounted for nearly half the port’s throughput.

China had the largest volume of trade with Valenciaport in 2009 at 7.5m tonnes (down -7.93% on 2008), followed by domestic traffic at 5.33m tonnes (down by -4.53%). Brazil increases trade with the port by 18.25% to 3.5m tonnes.
