Van Oord comes home to Rotterdam

Van Oord has signed the contract for the Maasvlakte 2 port expansion project in Rotterdam – which means the company will show off its capabilities at home after land reclamation projects in places like Dubai.

Port Strategy: Van Oord's chief executive signs the home turf deal

Under the contract, the consortium will construct 11 km of seawall, the first 700ha or so of the new port site (900ha in total), and 3km of quay walls. It will also dig the port basins to their required depth and build 11km of roads.
