Yuzhny fined for anti-competitive practices

Ukraines anti-monopoly committee has fined the state-owned Yuzhny (Southern) commercial seaport $125,000 for abuse of monopoly position in the provision of safe navigation services.

This allowed it to charge different terminal operators different rates, providing unequal discounts to the various companies in the port.

The port authority has admitted liability for the violations, which prompted the initial fined to be reduced in scale.
