Zagreb concession awarded
A concession has been awarded for the Zagreb Deep Sea Container Terminal (ZDSCT)in the Port of Rijeka.
APM Terminals (APMT) in a consortium with Croatian energy, infrastructure and logistics player Energia Naturalis (ENNA) has been awarded the 50-year concession to develop and operate the ZDSCT by Port of Rijeka Authority
The estimated value of the concession is US$3.25bn. There is a fixed concession fee of €2m per year. The consortium is establishing a special-purpose company in which the Netherlands-headquartered APMT will hold 51% and ENNA 49%.
The terminal is being been built in two phases, with the first phase involving the construction of a 400 m long pier and the second phase the construction of an additional 280 m. The planned depth of the sea at the pier is at least 20m, enabling the terminal to accommodate ships with a capacity of more than 14 000 TEU.
The terminal is part of the Rijeka Gateway project.
