Parthav Desai

Parthav worked for Volvo for the past seven years as a principal engineer responsible for managing concept analysis and simulation activities for innovative product development. His areas of interest include fuel economy, emission reduction, electric and hybrid-electric vehicles. Parthav has been involved in several large Volvo projects including the Department of Energy co-sponsored flagship fuel economy demonstrator SuperTruck Project as well as deployment of Plug-in Hybrid Heavy Duty Trucks in the Port of Los Angeles and Long Beach. Parthav’s activities at Volvo include capturing the customer requirements through data analysis and direct interactions and performing technology benchmarking using simulations and analysis to identify the optimal solution.

Before joining Volvo Parthav worked with Ballard Power designing fuel cell systems that run on Natural Gas and Diesel

Parthav has a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University and an MBA from Duke University.
