Tracy Fidell

Ms. Fidell has been working as a consultant in the maritime industry for almost 20 years. The bulk of her experience lies with planning, analysis, and design for port projects, with a particular emphasis on container terminals. She has provided services including analyzing the different components of container terminal operations (storage yard, berth, gate, intermodal yard), doing port redevelopment planning, and performing benefit-cost analyses.

An additional area of expertise is air quality issues related to ports. Ms. Fidell has conducted 11 emissions inventories at seven different ports in the U.S, including an inland river port, four California ports, and two East Coast ports. Her focus is primarily on waterside emissions: the tankers, cruise ships, container ships, and bulk carriers along with all associated escort and assist tug movements. She has analyzed dredging emissions and performed General Conformity determinations for environmental documents. She has also performed analyses comparing emissions for different transportation modes, such as barge versus truck and train versus truck.
