The “greatest contract”, a “gold standard” – true or false?

The end of February saw the International Longshoreman’s Association (ILA), the representative body for labour in 35 ports that run from Maine to Florida and along the Gulf Coast, ratify a new 6-year contact that spans from October 2024 to 2030. It is a deal that Harold Dagget, President, ILA, describes as “the greatest contract in ILA history” and one that is a “gold standard” for dockworker unions globally.
