DP World denies disagreements with Egyptian government
Media speculation that DP World is in dispute with the Egyptian government over Sokhna Port has been publicly denied by the Emirates-based operator.
Unexpected hikes in volume resulted in high levels of congestion at the port, with DP World reporting inbound cargo up 60% and outbound by 88%.
A spokesperson said: “There is no conflict whatsoever with the Egyptian government; indeed we are working cooperatively and constructively with the Egyptian government and the port authorities to immediately solve the issue.”
