Iran digs deep
16 costly port projects have been announced by Iran.
Iran’s president has issued an order for the operationalisation of 16 Ports & Maritime Organization (PMO) major projects.
Mohammad Rastad, managing director of PMO, said: “About 6 thousand 876 billion Rls. plus 87.9 million euros, as well as more than 382 billion Rls. by the private sector, have been invested for 16 new mega projects of the Ports and Maritime Organization.”
The projects span infrastructure, buildings, vessels, port equipment, maritime safety, port security and maritime transport facilitation, said Rastad
He added that two of the projects have been carried out by private sector investors, while the other projects have been implemented by PMO.
According to Rastad, the projects are located in Hormozgan, Khuzestan, Bushehr and Mazandaran provinces.
