IRSL to operate new Pars port complex

The operation of seven berths at Pars Port Complex in Iran has been transferred to the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines, which will also have responsibility for future investment.

The complex, which is in southwest Iran, will be managed by the shipping line for 15 years, with options to extend this in blocks of five years. For the first five years, some $40m will be invested in infrastructure.

The port and adjacent industrial complexes will occupy an area of 100 km².
