Salalah aims lower on CO2

In 2009 Salalah was able to reduce its CO₂ emissions by 6% while increasing volumes by 14%.

The new initiatives include investment in advanced technology and alternate energy sources, adoption of cleaner energy choices and more efficient use of resources. Alongside this will be Environmental Awareness campaigns among staff and port users and best practice programs.

Ernst & Young will provide advisory services regarding the measurement of the port’s carbon footprint and registering potential greenhouse gas abatement projects.
