Saudi Arabia spending spree

Saudi Arabia is planning to invest $914m in port development in the short term to cater for growing demand.

In 2011, the kingdom generated 20% of all regional container traffic, amounting to 5.69m teu.

A power plant at King Abdul Aziz port, one container terminal at Dhiba and two at King Fahd Port, along with a major expansion of box handling at Damman constitute some of the main projects.
