Crane OCR technology

The contract follows the successful implementation of ABB Crane OCR at five SSA terminals in the US.

ABB Crane OCR automates the recording of containers loaded and discharged by ship-to-shore cranes, removing the potential for human error. The container feature recognition capabilities use the latest artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to continuously enhance the read rates.

At MIT Panama the scope of supply includes OCR hardware and software, a multi-purpose camera system which detects door direction, bolt seals, and hazardous material labels, a damage inspection imaging system and MatchMaker, a terminal tractor numbers identification system.

ABB’s XClerk Exception Management System will also be implemented which allows exceptions to be reviewed and resolved remotely.
