Callao inefficient port slur

Port rankings produced by the World Economic Forum have placed Peru at the very bottom when it comes to infrastructure.

According to Pamela Cox, World Bank western hemisphere vice president: “The port of Callao is one of the most inefficient in Latin America”.

It is currently facing an over spend of $230m in an attempt to boost capacity and relieve congestion.

The result of this inefficiency is that Peru is one most expensive countries to export from.
