Difficulties in reaching the tsunami stricken areas can be overcome with the use of the multimodal facilities available in Johor which is close to Sumatra. The port says the multimodal synergy between Senai and PTP will enable effective redistribution of essential relief items by sea or air.

Containers of water, rice and clothes for tsunami survivors being loaded onto a CMA-CGM ship at Khorfakkan, destined for Colombo. CMA-CGM facilitated the movement, providing containers and waiving charges. These supplies donated and arranged by Gulftainer and local businesses were despatched to the tsunami devastated island last week. Gulftainer would like to thank all contributors for their generous efforts to assist the people of the affected regions at this time.
