Cook Islands
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is providing $15.5m to expand Avatiu Port, the Cook Islands main international port, it has said.
The project will replace the main wharf with a climate-proofed one less vulnerable to damage from large waves and will also widen the harbour entrance to enable larger vessels to berth at the reconfigured wharf.
The islands handle 90% of their imports by sea.
