Corruption investigation at Manzanillo

Officials of first-level ports of Mexicos Secretariat of Communications and Transportation (SCT) are investigating alleged practices of corruption, administrative failures and usurpation of functions at Mexico’s Administración Portuaria Integral de Manzanillo (API Manzanillo).

The Secretariat of Public Function, through the Commissariat of the Board of Directors of API Manzanillo, is investigating the port administration managing director Ovidio Noval Nicolás for administrative errors and usurpation of functions that could constitute a crime, Excelsior has reported.

Additionally, the OIC of the SCT is investigating facts and complicity against Alejandro Hernández Cervantes, general director of ports, of the General Coordination of Ports and Merchant Marine, in charge of Guillermo Ruiz de Teresa.

Plus, the OIC of the SCT is investigating Ovidio Noval Nicolás over the mishandling of a contract for a logistics company dealing with fluids and bulks.
