DECISION TIME AT PORT OF SPAIN

Bids are now being considered for a five-year management contract to operate Port of Spains container terminal.

Our work includes the design of the new 400 metres long wharf structure, site services and paving of the container and rail intermodal yards, terminal buildings, lighting and power distribution and a road overpass.

Philippines-based ICTSI, the terminal operating arm of CMA CGM, and Port of Houston have all showed interest.

The Trinidad and Tobago government dropped an attempt to sell a stake in the 320,000 TEU a year terminal in 2003. Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago is now evaluating bids for the acquisition of two RTGs and reachstackers to rejuvenate the terminal.
