Double bubble at Brazilian ports

LLX Logí stica (LLXL3), logistics arm of Brazils EBX group, plans to double the capacity of Sudeste port to 50m tonnes and Aç u port to 100m tonnes by 2012, LLX chief executive Ricardo Antunes has said.

Both ports, in Rio de Janeiro state, are currently being built.

Acu should be the first of the pair to open at the end of 2009. It will have an initial capacity of 26.5m tonnes for iron ore rising to 63.5m tonnes in the context of a total port capacity of 100m tonnes by 2012.
