Fire rages at Californian port

The fire started just before 1600 hrs local time at multi-material recycling facility CenCal. The Stockton Fire Department confirmed that the fire was at Port Road 22.

Late Monday evening, Stockton Firefighters Local 456 tweeted that heavy winds were creating a challenge for its crews and that the fire had depleted many resources from within the city of Stockton limits. It also thanked neighbouring agencies for their help.

Port of Stockton director, Richard Aschieris, confirmed to CBS Sacramento that fire crews were battling the blaze.

Port officials said that no injuries had been reported and that arson investigators had reportedly been called to the scene.
