Investment down at Brazilian ports
Port authorities in Brazil had invested about 20% of their forecast budgets by the end of October, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Planning.
Planned investment had been in the order of $297m, although only $61.5m had been spent.
However, the former capacity shortage has been somewhat mitigated by the economic downturn and is no longer be pressing problem than it once was. On the flipside, those projects currently under way will not mature for at least two years.
