New tender for Guayaquil

The government of Ecuador has not ruled out launching a new tender forthe concession to run the port of Guayaquil, while in the meantime ithas commenced restructuring of the port authority both there and in thecities of Manta, Esmeraldas and Puerto Bolívar. Guayaquil, it isargued, needs a strategic partner – similar to HPHs involvement at theport of Manta – to fund the investment needed in both infrastructureand equipment.
