. “Also we are developing a mineral ore dedicated facility north of Callao, in Ventanilla. In this last we are trying to meet the mining sector necessities and give aggregated value for them in the long term,” he added.

Peruvian authorities have underlined their commitment to port reform. The Ministry of Transport moved to ease labour concerns about the Paita concession saying there will be no job losses, pointing out the new concessionaire will absorb some workers and others will be re-employed by other ports.

The Ministry also said it will anounce its decision about who will be awarded the Paita concession on March 31.
