Port of Houston operational

The port stated on its website yesterday that “all Port Houston facilities will resume operations on Friday, Sept. 1^st“.

In a statement, the port said that there was no evidence of flooding and no visible damage to containers, cranes, or other terminal equipment.

Gates are functioning as normal with limited technical outages that have closed individual lanes.

Roads open

Regarding its turning basing facilities, it confirmed that both its upper level and lower level roads are now open.

Port of Houston Authority (PHA) is extending the free time for all imports that were on the yard at Bayport or Barbours Cut on 25 August by an additional seven days.

The port said it had not yet decided whether the terminals will be staying open late or additional weekend hours.

Yards in action

The IMS/C-PA, HT, and TLT yards are also open and will continue to mirror Port Houston gate hours. Jacintoport is also open for business.

The port confirmed that seven vessels were unable to call at Bayport container terminal and five at Barbours Cut during the storm.

It stressed that damage inspections would need to occur offsite.
