Record month for Portland

September was arecord month for the port of Portland, with 1.28m tonnes of cargomoving in and out of its terminals. Much of this was dry bulks -960,000 tonnes, divided between grain, potash and soda ash.

In addition, a 113-acre parcel in the Rivergate Industrial District near Terminal 6 has been leased by the port, for the construction of 2.5m sq ft of warehouse and distribution centre space.
