Santos expansion confirmed as viable

Brazils National Agency for Waterborne Transport (Antaq) has confirmed that demand is sufficient for the national government to expand Santos Port.

It is now up to the government to identify which projects should be considered a priority. Antaq’s recommendations were based on an analysis of Brazil’s port network, which considered which ports and which terminals should be given investment. The eventual aim is to optimise the national port structure with a view to helping exports and industry.
