WWL president to give GreenPort keynote address

Mr Fitzgerald will give the keynote address to the audience at the Congress — which will be held in Baltimore May 16-18 — on the opening morning of the three-day event.

His speech will follow welcome addresses from the Lieutenant Governor of Maryland and the state’s Secretary of Transportation.

Mr Fitzgerald served as vice president and general manager at Crowley Maritime from 1987 to 2000, before moving on to become chief operating officer and executive vice president at WWL.

In 2007, he became the president and chief executive officer of transportation company American Roll-on Roll-off Carrier (ARC), as well as becoming the president and chief operating officer of the American Shipping & Logistics Group that year.

In 2011, he became president for the Americas and the Europe, Middle East and Asia region for WWL, progressing to his current role at the company in February last year.

Mr Fitzgerald is also currently chairman of the Board of Directors at the ARC Group.

The 2018 GreenPort Congress Americas, the first GreenPort Congress to take place in North America, is being hosted by the Helen Delich Bentley Port of Baltimore, the Maryland Department of Transportation and the Maryland Department of the Environment.
