Otago gains second MSC call

Both shipping companies had been banned from exchanging cargo at the port over recent months – MSC on a new service from Australia and Maersk attempting to reinstate a former P&O Nedlloyd service from New Zealand.

With Brisbane being the next port call on the service, Otago shippers now have access to MSC’s direct Australian connections to North and Central Asia. Weekly global connections are also available through Singapore, which is the following port call after Brisbane.

The shipping company has already established its “Butterfly” trans-Tasman service at the port and provides the Otago region with access to key international markets through comprehensive relay services.
