Liebherr showcases digital terminal solutions

A key feature at the company’s stand was the launch of its new AI-powered Parts Assistant app, designed to simplify maintenance and spare parts identification for crane operators and terminal teams. The application enables users to locate components using photo recognition, QR codes, part numbers or text searches before verifying and ordering parts directly through the system.

Alongside the app, the company presented its wider maritime equipment portfolio, including mobile harbour cranes, ship-to-shore container cranes and rubber tyre gantry cranes, as well as lifecycle support programmes such as Liebherr Transform and Care Packs.

The company also highlighted its LiSIM move simulator, a mobile high-precision crane training platform designed to support flexible and sustainable operator training in multiple locations.

A preview of Liebherr’s new distance alerting feature for mobile harbour cranes provided visitors with an early look at future operator assistance and safety technologies intended to improve crane handling and reduce operational risks.

Outside the exhibition hall, Liebherr organised a dedicated customer tour to the HHLA container terminal in Hamburg, where participants observed the company’s automated dual trolley ship-to-shore cranes operating in a live terminal environment.

Visitors also toured the LiSIM Remote Operator Station simulator and Liebherr’s production facility in Rostock to gain additional insight into manufacturing, engineering and digital training integration.

During discussions with customers and terminal operators, topics centred on electrification, automation and the increasing importance of integrating digital technologies into everyday port operations.

A major highlight of the event was the opening of Liebherr’s new Digital Solutions Campus in Hamburg. The facility, officially opened during the Liebherr Hamburg Open House event attended by executive board member Patricia Rüf, is intended to serve as a dedicated training environment for crane drivers and terminal operators.
