Lomé terminal expands handling fleet

The shipment will include two SMV 4632 TC5 reach stackers and seven SMV 7/8 ECC90 empty container handlers, reinforcing the long-standing partnership between the terminal and the lifting equipment manufacturer.

LCT already operates a significant Konecranes fleet, including 32 rubber-tyred gantry cranes powered by electric busbars and auxiliary generators.

“Adding these new lift trucks helps us grow as a regional logistics hub, while access to operational insights gives our technical teams deeper visibility into performance.”

The reach stackers will be deployed for container handling across the terminal, while the empty container handlers will optimise stacking and repositioning operations. The equipment will also feature TRUCONNECT remote monitoring, enabling real-time performance insights and predictive maintenance.

The equipment will be delivered with the support of regional distributor Paterson Simons, which provides sales and after-sales services across West and Central Africa.
