Baltic Hub inaugurates T3 terminal

Spanning 36 hectares, the T3 terminal is set to become fully operational by late 2025, increasing Baltic Hub’s container handling capacity from 3 million to 4.5 million teu annually.

“Today we celebrate the inauguration of T3, one of the largest port investments in the Baltic region,” said Jan Van Mossevelde, chief executive of Baltic Hub. “This milestone reinforces Poland’s position as a strategic player in international trade.”

Jointly owned by PSA International, the Polish Development Fund and the IFM Global Infrastructure Fund, the new terminal features a 717 metre quay wall and a 17.5 metre draft, enabling it to service the world’s largest container vessels. It includes 20 automated rail mounted gantry cranes, seven semi-automatic ship-to-shore cranes and all terminal equipment runs on green electricity,

Aligning with Baltic Hub’s target to halve emissions by 2030 and achieve net-zero by 2050, T3’s construction has emphasised sustainability, using low-emission materials and marine habitat protections.

Container handling operations have already begun as part of the terminal’s commissioning phase, which will conclude by October 2025.

“T3 is not just a terminal; it’s a vital connector in a growing global network,” said Ong Kim Pong, group chief executive of PSA International. “It supports our vision of a resilient, integrated trade ecosystem.”

With Polish ports hitting a record 3.3 million teu in 2024, T3 strengthens intermodal links and meets rising demand across central and eastern Europe.
