Costain wins Dover utilities contract

The framework, valued at up to £235 million and spanning six years, will oversee a range of civils, building and utility projects designed to modernise and strengthen the port’s infrastructure.

The programme forms part of Dover Harbour Board’s wider 2050 Masterplan, which aims to enhance the port’s capacity for international trade and travel while supporting economic development and job creation.

“Costain’s appointment to the Project Contractors Framework reflects its technical expertise and track record in delivering complex infrastructure projects,” said Chris Hughes, business transformation director at the Port of Dover.

“We look forward to collaborating closely with Costain to ensure these projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.”

Costain has been awarded Lot 1, Utilities, under the framework. The company will be responsible for refurbishing and replacing critical utilities distribution systems across the port estate, with a focus on improving resilience, increasing asset value and embedding decarbonisation measures.
