This expansion represents a significant milestone in the Californian port’s ongoing efforts to promote business growth and support key players in the maritime industry.

“Dutra’s decision to expand at the Port of Richmond reflects our shared vision for sustainable growth and operational excellence,” said Charles Gerard, port director at the City of Richmond.

“We are excited to deepen our partnership with Dutra and look forward to the positive contributions their presence will bring to the port and the community.”

Dutra has been a long-standing tenant at the port, already leasing Basin 2 and adjacent storage, machine shop and office spaces.

The new lease of Basin 1 will provide deep-water access and a strategic location to better serve the northern California region. With proximity to key transportation networks, the expansion is poised to create new jobs and further strengthen the port’s economic impact.

The Point Potrero Marine Terminal, originally developed during World War II, remains a vital part of the port’s infrastructure.

This lease agreement highlights the Port of Richmond’s ability to attract major companies, solidifying its role as a key hub for maritime services in the region.
