The upcoming IAPORTS Virtual Investment Round, scheduled for 16 – 18 September 2025, promises to reshape how capital flows into global port infrastructure.

Hosted by the International Association of Port Development (IAPORTS), the three-day online event will offer a no-cost, high-impact platform for connecting port authorities, terminal operators, development banks and private investors.

Despite billions in global infrastructure commitments, many viable port projects remain underfunded due to fragmented information and lack of investor alignment. IAPORTS is addressing this gap by offering a streamlined environment to showcase bankable projects and promote investor engagement.

“Our Virtual Investment Round is designed to put high-quality projects directly in front of decision-makers,” said Raquel Kibrit, executive director of IAPORTS.

“We’re eliminating costly travel and time barriers while offering a structured agenda that gets to the heart of the investment conversation.”

The event will launch with a Global Port Investment Opportunities Overview, including live broadcasts by TV BENEWS. Port authorities across five continents will present detailed investment pipelines.

On September 17 and 18, six targeted matchmaking sessions will pair investors with project owners in one-on-one meetings, focusing on infrastructure modernization and net zero strategies. These sessions are curated through pre-event profiling to ensure strategic alignment.

“Portos Rio is proud to be part of this initiative,” said Francisco Martins, director of Portos Rio and president of the IAPORTS board. “We see this platform as a game-changer for connecting Brazilian infrastructure projects with global capital.”
