CNMP LH operates the Atlantique container terminal in Le Havre, France, one of Europe’s top ten ports.

“By acquiring a majority stake in the CNMP LH terminal in Le Havre, we are strengthening our position in one of our core European markets,” said Dheeraj Bhatia, chief executive of Hanseatic Global Terminals.

“At the same time, we are continuing to expand our global terminal portfolio while paving the way for targeted investments to enhance efficiency.

“The transaction will therefore directly contribute to the vigorous realisation of our Strategy 2030.”

Seafrigo Group will retain the remaining 40% of shares. Le Havre is a key hub for France’s sea transport, with an annual throughput of 3 million teu and strong connections to Paris.

The acquisition aims to support the growth of CNMP LH’s container throughput, particularly in the reefer container sector.

Terminal and infrastructure investments are central to HGT’s strategy, which seeks to expand its global terminal network to over 30 facilities by 2030.

Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
