In memoriam: Andrew Penfold
At the end of 2024 Port Strategy (PS) lost a good friend and colleague, Andrew Penfold. Andrew succumbed to an illness he was receiving treatment for but which eventually, sadly, took him from us far too soon.
Andrew wrote for PS on a regular basis contributing excellent ideas and insightful analysis. He will, however, be best remembered by many for starting Ocean Shipping Consultants (OSC) and building it into one of the leading forces in global maritime consultancy, spanning both shipping, ports and logistics. He took the lead in numerous projects across the world and was well known in leading companies such as Hutchison Ports where he consistently delivered added value.
He will be sorely missed by PS, and we are sure by the many of you, not just for his expertise but also his irony, good humour and many entertaining stories and quips.
We extend our deepest sympathies to his wife Catherine, daughters Alison and Madeline, and all his family.
RIP Andrew.
