A global leader in grain and seed handling

One of Cimbria’s many loyal customers in southeast Europe, Brevis from Dulovo in the northeast of Bulgaria, recently updated one of its Cimbria installations, namely its pumpkin seed processing plant built in 2007, with further Cimbria machinery to increase capacity due to growing demand.

Brevis’s factory is conveniently located just 130km away from the Port of Varna.

Because the company’s main focus is on high quality, the handler applies the same standard to its extensive product portfolio of crops, in addition to its harvesting machinery and plants and post- harvest processing systems.

Based on three different sites, Brevis receives, pre-cleans and stores its sunflower harvest in GSI- storage installations. The total holding capacity for sunflower in round silo bins is about 50,000 tonnes, which is equivalent to a storage volume of around 120,000 tonnes of wheat. A further 35,000 tonnes can be held in flat storage.

Cimbria’s partnership with Brevis started in 2007 with the erection of a pumpkin seed processing plant, followed by a huge sunflower fine-cleaning and peeling plant in 2013.

The permanent expansion of Brevis’ business across Europe and the United States has now enabled Brevis to further increase its processing capacities by adding a new Cimbria intake and pre-cleaning section to its pumpkin processing line, as well as further fine-cleaning machines to the existing line for a capacity upgrade.

Silo plant supply

In May, 2017, 23 large silo plants supplied by Cimbria to Egypt were commissioned and officially inaugurated by the President of Egypt, H.E Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

This project is considered to be the largest order for silo plants ever made world-wide and comprising a total storage capacity of no less than 1,38 million tonnes of wheat with a contract value for Cimbria of more than 100 million US dollars.

The Egyptian wheat harvest started in April and grain has been taken in at all the plants through the country. Geographically, the locations of the 23 plants stretch from the Mediterranean Sea and Suez all the way down to Aswan, in addition to a plant at East Owinate 600 km west of Aswan.

The order included project design and engineering, supply of conveying equipment, cleaners, laboratory equipment and electronic operation and control units as well as supervision and training of operators. Each of the 23 plants has a silo capacity of 60,000 tonnes, including conveying and cleaning facilities with a capacity of 200 tonnes per hour.

The entire scope was supplied within nine months and contained about 1400 containers of equipment and materials.

Cimbria Moduflex loading chutes are designed for dust-free outloading of dry bulk material.

The loading chutes can be supplied for tanker trucks, flatbed trucks, open and closed rail wagons and containers. The chutes can be manufactured in a more sturdy construction for shiploading, stockpiling and warehousing.
