Dual fuelled PSV order
Siem Offshore has entered into shipbuilding-contracts with Remontowa Shipbuilding in Poland for four new dual-fuelled Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs) of VS 4411 DF design.
The vessels will have dual-fuel systems for the use of either LNG or marine diesel oil. This new series of PSVs for Siem Offshore represents the latest technology within dual-fuelled systems and hull design, to the benefit of lower fuel consumption, lower fuel cost, lower emissions and a better environment.
Siem says that the vessels will be built to meet the highest requirements for operations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and are also suited for operations in other geographical areas.
They will have an overall length of 89m, beam of 19m, deck area of 970m2 and capacity of 5,500 dwt.
In addition to ordinary class notations for PSVs, the new PSVs will be equipped with equipment and class notations for Fire Fighting (Fi-Fi II), Oil Spill Recovery in Emergency Situations (Oilrec) and according to NOFO guidelines, Rescue and Standby Services to Offshore Installations (Standby Vessel) for up to 300 persons, and Safe Hose Operation System (SHOS).
The vessels have scheduled deliveries from the third quarter 2015 to the second quarter 2016.
Siem has two vessels of similar design under construction for delivery in 2014 and 2015, which are contracted long-term with TOTAL E&P NORGE AS and AS Norske Shell respectively.
