Efficient ergonomic controls for big trucks
Increasing efficiency is the primary factor behind the development of a new ergonomic cabin and control system for one range of port trucks.
The new control system for Hyster’s Big Truck range enables operators to access key information directly through the seven-inch integrated performance display and even run diagnostics and view truck performance – all without connecting to a computer.
“The new cab combines traditional ergonomic fundamentals with the latest technology advances,” said Lyndle McCurley, Vice President, Big Trucks, Hyster Company.
“Our customers are constantly pushed to get more out of a limited labour pool. The tools and design of this new cabin can help boost labour efficiency and keep operators more comfortable and focused all shift long.”
Efficiency
In addition to the new control system, the trucks also offer maintenance-friendly features, like LED lights on broken fuses to save time on troubleshooting and replacement and unique wear pads that allow smoother fork repositioning and wear more evenly than roller designs.
Adjustable steering angles allow operators to select between steering behaviours – maximizing maneuverability or reducing friction, increasing the useful life of tyres.
The new cab is available on Hyster H190-360XD, H360XD36 and H360XD48 truck models.
These are the latest efficiency improvements to be made to Hyster’s Big Truck range.
Previously, in 2019, Hyster Europe customers announced its lift trucks over 8t, container handlers and reachstackers would be equipped with the Stage V-compliant Mercedes-Benz/ MTU Series 1000 and 1100 engines.
