Electric spreaders to reduce emissions at Tangier
Bromma has received a major order consisting of 36 all-electric YSX45E spreaders which will help reduce emissions created by automated stacking cranes at APMT’s new Tangier-Med 2 container terminal.
The major order is the latest in a series of spreader orders for Kuenz projects received over the years.
“The YSX40/45E is by far the most used spreader in automated terminals in the world today,” said Lars Meurling, Bromma marketing director.
“The robust design combined with specific features required in an automated environment makes these spreaders the best choice for automatic stacking cranes.”
Bromma said that more than 90% of the spreaders it supplies for RTG, RMG and ASC operations are all-electric GreenLine spreaders.
The company said that these all-electric spreaders are being specified by customers due to their inherent reliability, environmental and economic benefits.
GreenLine spreaders have fewer service points, a lighter weight and no hydraulics. Therefore these spreaders simplify maintenance requirements, require less power, produce fewer emissions and offer tough durability.
Operations at the APMT Tangier-Med 2 terminal are scheduled to begin in the first half of 2019. When completed to full capacity, the Tangier-Med 2 terminal will have a capacity of five million teu annually.
