Kalmar reduced-fuel APAC tractors
Ten new low fuel consumption Kalmar TL2 terminal tractors will be used by two Malaysia terminals to increase operational efficiency.
The machines, designed to operate in Asia-Pacific and which Kalmar claim reduce fuel consumption by up to 15%, have been ordered by Trac-Wheels (M) Sdn Bhd to lease to its Miri Port and Tanjung Manis Port terminals in East Malaysia.
Richard Song, managing director of Trac-Wheels (M) Sdn Bhd, said: “The environmental features of the Kalmar TL2 terminal tractor can further contribute to the sustainable goals of Miri Port, whilst Tanjung Manis Port strives to improve operational efficiency.
“Kalmar TL2 terminal tractor offers more options and features to meet the local specifications and promote overall cost effectiveness.”
Smart programming
Kalmar said the tractor’s smart programming combined with its efficient driveline reduces overall fuel consumption by up to 15%. Its specially designed hydraulics system aims to save time and money.

The tractors are due for delivery in the second quarter of 2018.
