New port floodlight series

Phoenix says that for terminal operators, the new series represents significant maintenance reduction, energy savings of up to 70% and instant on-line lighting to reduce downtime – because they were developed after listening to the industry.

Ryan Hertel, director of business development, Phoenix Products, explained: “Phoenix Products has taken two years of feedback from the industry and designed a durable, modular LED floodlight specifically for port equipment.”

The new EcoMod series utilises EcoVent technology that extends the life of the fixture by allowing heat, water and debris to flow between the modules. Another plus is that they can be incorporated onto new cranes as well as the retrofit of existing cranes.

The EcoMod LED floodlight offers an option of 150 and 300W with outputs of 12,500 and 25,000 lumens respectively. There are also numerous optical packages available ranging from wide flood to narrow spot optics to accommodate any application at a port facility.

Phoenix has already been chosen by the Long Beach Container Terminal (LBCT) to outfit new cranes with its ModCom LED floodlights this year, so it will be hoping for similar success with the new series.

The LBCT cranes are currently being built by crane manufacturer, ZPMC, and are expected to be delivered towards the end of 2013.
