AD Ports to boost Pakistan’s trade efficiency

PSW is a state-owned entity and system which simplifies cross-border trade by enabling traders to submit import, export and transit data via a unified digital portal.

Key services to be implemented through this new collaboration include digital customs clearance, smart warehousing, eCommerce, risk management systems, trade finance and predictive analytics.

Using technologies such as AI, blockchain and IoT, the partnership intends to streamline trade, improve regulatory compliance and enhance transparency. It will also promote environmentally sustainable practices by supporting paperless documentation and carbon-efficient logistics.

As a strategic player in AD Ports Group’s central Asia expansion, Pakistan’s position as the maritime gateway to the ‘Middle Corridor’ between Asia and Europe is crucial.

The group has a 50-year concession with Kaheel Terminals to operate five container terminal berths at Karachi’s East Wharf and, in 2024, it received a 25-year concession to operate seven general and bulk cargo berths at the same location.
