Eco angle for port innovation contest
A port transportation innovation contest will see entrants submit original project ideas to encourage more environmental and safe production.
Organised by Garip & Zeycan Yıldırım Foundation, with the financial support of Yildrim Companies Group and Yilport Holding, the competition, which is believed to be the first innovation contest in the Turkish port industry, includes the theme of environment and green port for which entrants will submit original ideas for reducing the environmental impact of port operations.
The contest document stated: “In line with the idea of a sustainable port; eco-friendly port operations and port management designs will be examined in this category, where the environment is protected and the harmful factors are excluded from the scope of operation-logistics management and the ecological interests are integrated with smooth port activities.”
Other contest themes include productivity and optimisation; safety, human, security; big data, blockchain, IoT; automation; port infrastructure; port-city integration; and artificial intelligence.
The deadline for registration and project submission is 26 April 2019 with the award ceremony on 14 June 2019.
