Dr. Haoxin Xu, Lead Consultant Department of Waste-to-Energy & Carbon Capture, Ramboll will be presenting on Green Technologies on Thursday 9th May.

Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) has emerged as a pivotal solution, recognized by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), to achieve global net-zero goals. Notably, Northern Europe has witnessed a surge in Carbon Capture (CC) project implementations within power and hard to-abate sectors. Conversely, Southeast Asia, particularly Singapore, views Carbon Capture deployment as imperative for decarbonizing fossil-based economies, positioning Singapore as a key regional decarbonization partner and carbon trade hub.

This presentation delves into case studies derived from our hands-on involvement in Carbon Capture projects within Waste-to-Energy and Cement manufacturing facilities in Europe. Specifically, we analyse the technology landscape, procurement strategy, and commercial setup, as well as assess the financial viability of these initiatives.

Haoxin joined the Waste-to-Energy and Carbon Capture team in Singapore in Oct 2019 and has since then been involved in several WTE and Carbon Capture projects in various geographies including Southeast Asia, Europe, and South Africa. She is a specialist in Technical Due Diligence and also has experience in feasibility study, waste assessment, tender specification and procurement strategy.
