Patrick doubles booking fees

Fees charged for the vehicle booking system operated by Patrick Stevedore at Port Botany doubled at the end of March.

Sydney Ports Corporation approved the fee rising from A$4.75 (US$4.76) to A$9.75 to recover costs associated with the new Port Botany Landside Improvement Strategy (PBLIS), under which penalties will be applied for failures to turn trucks around quickly. Those costs include administration and IT systems development.

Rival stevedore DP World is also seeking to lift its VBS rates.
