Hyster, along with other manufacturers, remains unconvinced about reachstackers and whether they really are what the market wants - or needs - to use to handle empties, and with this in mind is launching a new range of FLTs for empty container handling, the H16.00-22.00XM-12EC.

This type of machine really is suited to  handling empty containers,Hyster believes. It  stacks up to eight high, has added stability  thanks to a longer wheelbase and wider drive  axle, has Hyster's well-known '1 to 4' lift mast,  and new, clean-burning diesel engines that  conform to the stringent requirements of the  European Commission's 'Tier 3' EC directive.

The H16.00-22.00XM-12 EC series offers a choice of four "container engagement" systems for handling single containers and double containers, in order to best meet the customers' needs. A 'Powered Pile Slope' feature is also available as an option, and provides hydraulically operated sideways articulation of the spreader to further facilitate easy positioning and engagement of the spreader on containers.
