'Ready to go' cranes combat weather challenges
Two post-Panamax cranes were delivered by Liebherr to the United Arab Emirates in a 'ready to go' state recently - despite high seas which meant the delivery barge had to take shelter until the bad weather passed.
The journey - taking approximately four days - saw "some challenging weather conditions", as Liebherr's Gerry Bunyan says, including "90 km/hr winds and high seas".
However, the cranes arrived safely, which meant that they were in action almost immediately after delivery, starting operations on the 9,700 teu CMA CGM Orfeo.
