New Liebherr crane simulators
Liebherr Maritime Cranes has launched its Liebherr Simulations (LiSIM), a new range of maritime crane simulators, developed for crane operator training to increase port safety and productivity.
The range of emission and fuel free simulated cranes, which have been based on original software and hardware, include ship to shore, rubber tyre gantry, mobile harbour and offshore cranes.
The training solution has been designed to simulate harsh environmental conditions, such as snowfall, heavy winds, torrential rain and high waves, when required, allowing both experienced operators and trainees to gain valuable operating experience.
Each realistic LiSIM scenario is set in a typical maritime environment where parameters, including day time or night time operation, kind of cargo and vessel size, can be modified according to training requirements.
Liebherr says the simulator based training will allow trainees to improve their skills in a realistic but virtual maritime environment, eliminating damage to maritime equipment and injuries to port personnel.
Its multifunctional instructor station has complete control over the simulation, allowing the instructor to create challenging and unexpected situations for the trainee at any time.
Trainees will also benefit from the full high definition flat screen monitors, surround sound speakers and the ergonomically designed driver’s cabin and control panel, which ensures the driver experiences realistic views, sounds and movement.
Liebherr’s simulators are available in three configurations: the classroom solution, the space saving cabin solution and the containerised solutions.
Liebherr's new range will be on show at TOC CSC Europe, taking place in Rotterdam from 25 to 27 June 2013.
