Jan de Nul has been awarded a US$503mn contract to undertake dredging and reclamation work for container terminal two at Jebel Ali.

These include NYK, MOL, CMA CGM, PSA, HPH, Evergreen, Container Corporation of India, Larsen & Toubro and Gammon India. A contract is expected to be awarded in September or October.

Work, which is scheduled for completion at the end of 2007, will involve the construction of rubble mound breakwaters and revetments along a distance of 9km, involving the movement of 2.5m cu metres of rock.
